At a Case Management Meeting, the judge gave the consent to move the start date of the trial to October 30th (baring a major development, this is a hard date). The Plaintiff's case will continue in court for 6 weeks in 2017, plus a few weeks in the new year.
A witness list for the first 6 weeks will be ready around mid-September.
An updated approximate timeline for the trial, listed in order, is as follows:
- Completion of Plaintiffs’ case: 6-8 additional weeks (through to mid-January 2018)
- Anesthesiologist (BCAS) Opening and Patient Intervenors: 1 week
- Coalition Intervenors: 3 days
- Canada Opening and Expert witness: 1 week
- BC: 6 weeks
This means that the trial will be in court until sometime in April-May 2018.
